New Design Works & Commissions

If you are thinking about commissioning a new work the first step is to contact The Stained Glass Studio and arrange for a visit to where the new work is going to be sited.

This gives us the chance to assess the decorative and functional design applications, the position and the amount of available light and access. This initial contact and discussion is without obligation or fee and will give you an opportunity to meet the glass artist and look at some examples of stained glass design work. This lets you reflect on the type of new work you would like and allows us to get a sense of what would best suit your tastes and the style of your surroundings.

All new stained glass design is created exclusively for each client to suit their individual taste and style and in view of this we are sensitive to the need for costs to be outlined at an early stage of enquiry. It follows that discussions with us and a site visit are essential. At this stage, and on an individual basis, we can advise on feasibility and estimated costing for your project. Once The Stained Glass Studio has been given the go-ahead, outline scaled designs, colour layouts and glass samples showing available colours and textures, will be produced for your consideration. This is usually within a couple of weeks. Following the approval of the final design, lead time to completion is generally four to six weeks. This can vary though, depending on the urgency and/or complexity of the job – some clients have a tight schedule while others are in no hurry so work can be scheduled accordingly. On the other hand, large projects can take months to complete. It is therefore advisable to be aware of the time involved when commissioning a stained glass design work.

Nevertheless, whatever the scale of your project, we offer a professional commitment together with a personable and reliable service.
